ロンドンのブルーバッジ・ガイド、いつもやさしく親切なシリアの案内で
☆シリアさんからのメッセージ 　シェイクスピアの町、ストラットフォードのエイボン川河畔で、以前一緒に来た修大生のことを想いながら書いたのだそうです。東京にある大学に留学したこともある。

Celia Campbell, 　　　a Professional London Blue Badge Guide
Hello everyone, I'm Celia Campbell. I was born in Scotland, and work as a tourist guide for visitors who speak English, Japanese and, occasionally, French. In the past, I've studied abroad at university in Spain and Tokyo. I think this kind of experience is very special, and an important memory for all students. 　It seems HSU students have worked hard to come to London on the Summer Programme and are alert, interested & open to new experiences, to a different way of life, and to the challenge of living and studying in a foreign city. 　I am writing as the river flows by the theatre in Stratford on Avon, remembering past students and the enthusiastic support of Professor Kumagae and Professor Littlemore, and looking forward to meeting those coming in 2005 with Professor Littlemore. Once again, I'll be your guide: we'll meet once a week for an afternoon or all-day tour. Please have a look at Chikyuu no Arukikata to check not just London, but also Oxford, Stratford on Avon, Warwick Castle, Blenheim Palace and Windsor Castle! Former students will also remember visits to Brighton, to Fullers Brewery (where beer is made) and the business trip to Lloyds of London, the world-famous insurance market. Best wishes, Celia

☆ロンドンコーチツアーに行って 　伝統と文化が入り交じるロンドン市内に毎日通学していても、初めはなかなか市内を見てまわる機会がなかった。しかしまもなくコーチツアーで、テレビでしか見たことのないタワーブリッジやビックベン、バッキンガムパレスを見ることができた。一度にこんなにロンドンを味わっていいのかと思うほどロンドン市内をぐるぐるとした。しかし、サミュエル・ジョンソンが言う通りだ。一日にしてロンドンは回れるはずもなく、何日いても飽きることはなかった。「ロンドンに飽きた人は人生に飽きた」と本当に言える街。ロンドンに行ってみないとわからないので、ぜひ自分の目と肌で感じて欲しい。（商学部　村上　可奈）
☆Warwick Castle　ウォリック城
このお城からの眺めは本当に素晴しいものでした。とても急で長いらせん状の石の暗い階段を昇り、やっとの思いで外に出てみてビックリ、想像もしていなかった景色が私の目に飛び込んできました。遠くに見える教会、おもちゃの家のようにかわいいレンガでできた民家。家の近くに停まっている車さえ除けば、何百年も昔にタイムスリップしたような不思議な気持ちになりました。また、さすがにお城というだけあって、敵からの侵入を防ぐべくアイデアが至る所にあり、長い歴史の流れを肌で感じることができました。（商学部　松前　美紀）

☆Fuller's Breweryフーラーズ・ビール工場 　一歩足を踏み入れた瞬間、なんとも形容しがたいにおいが襲いかかってきた｡息を止める暇もない｡酵母だろうか、ホップだろうか？とにかくすごい｡これがビール工場か？これではビール好きでも逃げ出しそうだ。 　Fuller's Breweryは、イギリスでも１・２を争うビールメーカーで、イギリスに来てすっかりお馴染みとなった黒いビール（ラガー）の幾つかも、ここで作られている｡正直ビールは苦手だ｡ラガーも独特の苦味がある｡この日も工場見学と一緒にFuller'sのビールをテイスティングさせてもらったけど、やっぱりおいしいとは思えない｡なのに、それなのに・・・。不思議なもので、それ以来パブに出かけたら、なんとなくFuller'sのラガーをいつも頼んでいる自分がいた｡（商学部　池田　大作）

☆ブライトン The Royal Pavilion and Fish & Chips 海岸保養地として有名なブライトン。ここにはインド宮殿風建物ロイヤル・パビリオンが建っている。しかし内側に入ると中国装飾品の内装。その秘密は? ブライトンでは、シリアさんおすすめの店のフィッシュ・アンド・チップスがおいしい。 *The Royal Pavilion　ロイヤル・パビリオン 　The Royal Pavilion is one of the most exotically beautiful buildings in the British Isles. Its Indian architecture contrasts with interiors inspired by China in this breathtaking Regency palace. Built for King George IV, the Pavilion was also used by William IV and Queen Victoria. Originally a farmhouse, in 1787 architect Henry Holland created a neo-classical villa on the site. It was transformed into Indian style by John Nash between 1815 and 1823. *Fish & Chips　フィッシュ・アンド・チップス 　魚のフライとポテトチップス。魚はいろいろ。酢と塩の簡単な味付けだけで美味しい。 　Fish & Chips is a traditional meal in Britain. There are different kinds of fish. For example, cod, rock and so on. We had some when we went to Brighton. I had cod & chips with vinegar and salt. It was delicious. And it seemed to be a habit for most English people there to eat fish & chips.
